Outcome
The upgrade was architected and carried through test, including Open UI presentation work and Siebel development environments hosted on AWS. This page does not claim a savings figure.
This was previous work, not a current role. From 2014 to 2015 Jon was the upgrade architect and technical lead for a move from Siebel 7.8 to IP2014 at Akamai Technologies.
The Open UI work replaced browser-script behavior with presentation models, physical renderers, and plug-in wrappers, including form applets that did not render correctly after the upgrade. Development environments and developer workstations were built and hosted on AWS. Deployments went to test on a regular cadence so end users could find upgrade defects. Hardware sizing for the upgraded system was reviewed against the production environment that already existed. Performance tuning ran through the production test upgrade.
